The House League Registration Consents
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These are the four things a parent or guardian agrees to when they register a child for The House League. Each one is linked from its own tick box on the registration form.
Registrants are children. The reader is always the parent or legal guardian, so "you" is the guardian throughout and "your child" is the registrant.
1. The House League registration terms
The Community League, Ltd. (TCL) is a sports programming organization based in Kigali, Rwanda. The House League is our coached youth program, and every player in it is a child. That is why you are the one registering, and why these terms are addressed to you.
Who you are agreeing for. You confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of every child you have added to this form, and that you may agree to this on their behalf. A person under 18 cannot register themselves with us.
What you are agreeing to. These terms sit alongside our Terms of Service and our Disclaimer, which apply to you and to your child. Please read both. They cover our code of conduct, what happens when it is broken, and the limits on our liability, and those limits are bounded by what the laws of Rwanda allow.
The information you give us. Give us true and complete information, and tell us when it changes, especially your phone number and anything about your child's health that our coaches need to know. We run sessions on what you tell us. We can suspend or cancel a registration built on information that turns out to be false.
Basketball carries risk, and coaching does not remove it. The House League is coached youth basketball. Children collide, fall and get hurt, most often in small ways and occasionally in serious ones. Our Disclaimer sets out those risks in full. By registering your child you accept those risks on their behalf, and you accept that you are the one deciding whether your child plays.
TCL does not provide medical care, medical insurance or accident insurance. We are not a medical service. Our staff will help your child get assistance in an emergency. Any medical bill that follows an injury at a TCL session is yours, and we strongly recommend that every parent of a young participant carries their own medical or accident cover.
Conduct. Our code of conduct applies to your child at sessions and to you at our venues and in our group chats. Serious incidents can mean a child is removed from the program.
Paying. What each plan costs and when it is due are shown to you at the payment step. What happens to a payment if your child withdraws is set out in The House League Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Your record. Agreeing here is what completes your child's registration. We keep the wording you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed, as the record.
2. Photos and video of your child
We photograph and film our sessions and games, and we publish that content on TCL social media, on our website, and in material about The House League and about TCL. It is how a program like this is seen, and how other families find it.
Your choice is recorded per child, not per family. If you are registering more than one child, you can agree for one and opt out for another. There is a box next to each child's name on the registration form.
What we do not do. We do not sell your child's personal data, and we do not trade or rent it to anyone for marketing. Who we do share data with is set out in our Privacy Policy.
You can change your mind at any time. Message us and we will change what we have recorded for your child. You do not have to give a reason, and it does not affect their place in The House League.
Asking us to take something down. Our practice does not depend on what you ticked. From our Privacy Policy: "Whatever a signed form says, our practice is simple. If you ask us to take down a photo or video of you from our own channels, we take it down." Message us on Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp, or email us. What we cannot always do is pull back something another person has already downloaded or reshared, and content already printed or placed with a partner may take longer to withdraw.
If you opt this child out: we will not photograph or film them on purpose, and we will not publish a photo or video of them on TCL's channels. The coaches and staff at their sessions are told.
What we cannot promise: their sessions are public games in shared spaces. A child can still appear in the background of a wide shot of a court, in a photo of a whole group, or in footage of a game they are playing in. We do not control the phones of other parents, spectators or the venue, and we cannot stop someone else photographing at a public court. If you see something of your child on one of our channels, tell us and we will take it down.
Your record. Agreeing here is what completes your child's registration. We keep the wording you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed, as the record.
3. How TCL keeps children safe
The House League is a program for children, and keeping them safe is the part of it we take most seriously. This page explains what we ask of you, and how to tell us when something is wrong.
Our safeguarding policy. TCL has a written safeguarding policy that covers our staff, coaches and volunteers, what they may and may not do, and what happens when a concern is raised. You can read it at Safeguarding Minimum Standard and you can ask us for a copy at any time.
Getting your child to and from sessions. You are responsible for your child getting to a session and getting home from it. Tell us in advance if someone other than you is collecting them. If your child has no way of getting home at the end of a session, tell a member of TCL staff at the venue rather than leaving.
Telling us what we need to know. Tell us anything that affects your child's safety at a session, including a health condition, a court order, or an arrangement about who may collect them. Tell us when it changes.
Raising a concern. If anything about a session, a coach, a volunteer or another participant worries you, tell us. You can speak to the staff member at the venue, or contact us directly on the number and email at the bottom of this page. We would rather hear a concern that turns out to be nothing than not hear one at all.
What we ask of you at sessions. Our code of conduct applies to parents and guardians at our venues and in our group chats as well as to players.
Your record. Agreeing here is what completes your child's registration. We keep the wording you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed, as the record.
4. Your child's health details, and what we do with them
What we ask for, and nothing else. For each child you register:
- any medical conditions and allergies we should know about;
- any medication they are currently taking;
- the name and phone number of an emergency contact.
If there is nothing to tell us, write "none". Please still give us an emergency contact.
Why we ask. So the adults with your child at a session can act properly if something happens. A coach who knows a child carries an inhaler, or that a child is allergic to something, can do the right thing in the first minute rather than the tenth. The emergency contact is a second number to call when you cannot be reached, and it matters here because you will usually not be courtside.
Who sees it. The coaches and coordinators running your child's sessions, so they have it when they need it. TCL staff who run registrations, in our admin system. It is also included when staff download the registration list as a file, which is how rosters and contact lists get made. It is never put on a public spreadsheet or posted in a group chat, and we do not share it with anyone outside TCL except where it is needed to get your child medical help, or where a law or a competent authority in Rwanda requires it.
Please tell your emergency contact that you have given us their name and number, and that we may call them about your child.
How long we keep it. For as long as we need it to run the program and to meet our legal obligations, and then we delete it or make it anonymous. This is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Changing it. Message us any time and we will update it. Tell us when something changes during the season, especially medication. You can also ask us to show you everything we hold about your child, correct it, or delete it.
Your record. Agreeing here is what completes your child's registration. We keep the wording you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed, as the record.
