About The Community League

The Community League (TCL) is a fast-growing Pan-African sports and cultural organisation redefining what grassroots sports can look like. Through our pillars, Ukurikira (free community streetball runs), The REC (structured basketball leagues), The Lab (player training and development), The House League (youth basketball), and Events, we are building a sustainable street-to-elite pipeline for talent, culture, and community across Rwanda and beyond.

You take the whistle at Ukurikira runs. Calls, game flow, keeping the court honest when it matters to people. It is the hardest volunteer job we have and it is the one that shows most.

You do not need to have refereed before. You need to be willing to make a call and stand behind it, and to take a briefing from the crew on the night.

Most of these slots are at Ukurikira, and we use volunteer referees in The REC and The House League too.

Where it leads: referees who are good at this get paid to referee. Ukurikira is where we find out whether you can do it.
